Hello and welcome to Writer's Delight.
The urge to write is shrouded in mystery and obscured by myth and legend. We want to write but are confused about how to proceed. Do we have enough talent? Do we have anything worth saying? Will we embarrass ourselves? And on and on, we agonize.
Many aspiring writers experience trepidation and doubts, even hesitating to call themselves writers. Aspiring carpenters do not have the same problem. Carpenters simply go about the business of learning to read blueprints, cut 2 x 4s and hammer nails. If a carpenter has trouble with a task, say cutting compound angles for crown molding, she may ask for help, read some instructions and make some practice cuts. The apprentice carpenter then continues working on the skill until it's mastered. Writers, on the other hand, seem to agonize and worry instead of just tackling the problem.
Our mission is simple. We encourage writers to write by banishing the agony and discovering the delight in writing. Welcome aboard.
